The Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) Northwest on December 27, 2023 with the seven Divisional representatives of the Northwest Region brain stormed on strategies to bring together Youths of the Region on board CNYC platform.
This was during the first-ever public budget orientation session on Wednesday, at the Auditorium of the North West Regional Assembly.
The budget of over FCFA 800 million was voted by eligible members as a projection for the year 2024 which is geared towards the empowerment of youths in the Region.
The Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC), created in 2009 by the Head of State, H.E. President Paul Biya, serves as the representative body for over 11,000 youth organizations in Cameroon. It is a national forum for consultation, expression, coordination, dialogue, and action among youth organizations in the country.

"About 80% of the budget goes directly to empower and establish youths in the region. This is a projection and we have already spelled out all the budgetary heads with nomenclature and how it is going to be spent to interest of the youths." Opined President Mekom Samuel.
The coffers of the Cameroon National Youth Council Northwest are not empty given that the State of Cameroon does provide subvention to ease the functioning of his office and team.

Fadimatou Iyawa, the National President Cameroon National Youth Council who honored the public budget orientation session organized by the executive bureau of the Northwest Region expressed her thanks to the Head of State for putting such a platform through which Youths are empowered to be key actors in preaching peace.
"The youths council plays the role of interface between the government development partners and private sectors. It is very important for me to be there to listen to the proposals of the young people in the region from the region and advice them on the realistic part way they should be taking for the budget. As National president I came here to keep preaching the message of peace building." Fadimatou Iyawa CNYC National President.
The Northwest executive of the Cameroon National Council were handed the command bartin on March 10, 2023 by the Northwest Governor Adolphe Lele LAfrique, with President being Mr. Mekom Samuel.
